We do things a little differently here at Melbourne Furnishing Co. – so you may have a few questions for us.

Do you deliver furniture?

Yes, we certainly do. Our staff can deliver and set up your new pieces at a time that suits you. (We give you convenient one-hour windows, so you don’t have to sit around waiting for us.)

Delivery is FREE for Wonthaggi locals, with low rates for nearby customers. We also deliver to Melbourne!

How long can I expect to wait for delivery?

When you shop from our floor stock, you can receive the item straight away. Imagine that… your dream dresser at your place the same day!

If you order a pre-made product, you can expect to wait 2-3 weeks. However, this may vary depending on the manufacturing company.

If your item is custom and Australian-made, most suppliers take 6-12 weeks to build your dream piece. On the day of purchase, we call the supplier to confirm the ETA.

Can you remove my old furniture items during delivery?

Yes. Our delivery drivers are more than happy to remove old items.

We can take old furniture to the garage, sidewalk, Salvos – and even the tip. Just ensure you’ve arranged any local op shop deliveries ahead of time and are aware of the tip fees.

Do I need to assemble my own furniture?

No. Most of our furniture is fully made and must only be unwrapped.

We can take care of items that require simple assembly (like standard beds) for you – at no cost. For complex, time-consuming items (like bunk beds and gas lift beds), assembly fees will apply.

Can I buy online?

We don’t sell online. That’s because our range is extensive and ever-changing – and face-to-face conversations are the only way to ensure we can learn exactly what you’re after.

When you shop with us, our team will guide you from first touch to installation. So you can see, sit and feel your piece before you buy. It’s old-fashioned – but in a good way!

I found a piece of furniture in a magazine – can you help me source it?

Absolutely. Sourcing specific pieces of furniture is our biggest strength.

We partner with an extensive list of suppliers and can likely find the exact piece you’re after. However, if on the odd chance we can’t, one of our local furniture manufacturers can craft one just the same – or very similar.

Can you customise a piece of furniture?

Certainly. We love turning dream pieces into reality.

When you head into the store, we’ll sit down with you – pencil and coffee in hand – to sketch out your ideal piece and quote correctly. Whether you decide to go ahead with the manufacturing is up to you. We’re simply here to help. If the price is right, we take a deposit and place your order.

I love this furniture piece, but can I change its colour?

Yes – as long as the item is made-to-order and Australian-made. When you shop Australian-made, you can specify fabric and colour type, and the manufacturer will craft it accordingly.

If the item is imported, your colour options will be limited as these items are pre-made and ready for immediate delivery.

Where is your furniture made?

We stock both high-quality local and imported furniture.

All our custom pieces are made in Australia. Other pre-made pieces are manufactured in countries such as Vietnam, Malaysia, China and Indonesia. To learn more about a specific piece, just ask us in-store.

Do you stock outdoor furniture?

We sure do – all year round.

During the warmer months, from October to February, we also open an outdoor pop-up shop in Wonthaggi to showcase even more outdoor items.
